SEEING CLIENTS VIRTUALLY & IN-PERSON IN BETHESDA, MD
Anna Rowley, PhD
You may have sacrificed a lot to fulfil your ambition; you don’t have to sacrifice your emotional well-being or relationships.
My Approach to Therapy
Whether you are navigating a current career transition, relationship impasse, experiencing ‘neurotic ambition’ or noticing recurrent patterns of feelings and behavior our work will be shaped by your unique needs.
For some, short-term, present focused techniques may be most helpful. For others, exploring the impact of past relationships and experiences—an approach known as psychodynamic psychotherapy—can provide deeper understanding and lasting change.
The goal isn’t to dwell on the past but to answer, “How did I get here?” and “What can I do now?”
About Me
My career working with high achievers started in London, England where I led a multi-disciplinary team researching the physiological and psychological effects of intensive training on young athletes.
Following this experience, I obtained my PhD in psychology and set up a private practice working with executives from some of the largest technology companies in the world—Microsoft, Google and LinkedIn.
Travelling the world I realized first hand the power of therapy to affect meaningful change. It can enhance relationships, foster deeper self-awareness and help overcome self-created obstacles standing in the way of personal and professional achievement. I captured these experiences in my book, ‘Leadership Therapy.’
Over twenty years ago I moved to Washington DC and have continued my practice Stateside. I have a license to practice in Maryland and during my internship I specialized in Play Therapy, Couples and Family Therapy.
